Another in my series of how-to tutorials for ActiveCampaign: email marketing software.
Today’s how-to video is how to create a list and import contacts into ActiveCampaign.
First things first…
Before you start to create lists and import your contacts into ActiveCampaign, I want you to think about how you plan to use those lists. Many email platforms need you to have multiple lists based on customer interests and, of course, the more lists you have, the more complicated and time it takes to manage them.
Services such as Mailchimp and Aweber use lists and if these are your current platforms, using tags does take a bit of getting used to.
Services such as Infusionsoft don’t use lists at all – contacts are all tagged rather than added to lists.
ActiveCampaign uses a combination of both – you can have many lists and tag your contacts. This can also get quite complicated.
If it works for your business, it may be easier and cleaner to have one master list and to segment that list with tagging. I’m all for ease and simplicity!

After watching the video, what did you decide to do – choose to have one master list or many lists?
